LeadershipThrough a series of activities, guided interaction, and group exercises, students will explore the principles of youth leadership and learn to develop individual and group leadership skills to impact their lives and their communities. Content areas include effective communication, leadership, decision-making, goal setting, servant leadership, organization, action and advocacy, time management skills, and concrete strategies to implement change.

NewspaperThe yearbook/newspaper course has been designed to provide students with journalism skills and the ability to apply those skills to the actual production of a school newspaper and yearbook. Students will learn skills including teamwork, responsibility, brainstorming, content, reporting, writing, headlines, captions, editing, photography, design, graphics and distribution. Actual work results in the current volume of the school’s yearbook and monthly editions of the student developed newspaper. The publication strives to maintain a tradition of excellence in which the school and the community can take pride.
